Japan’s next premium Pokémon TCG release is taking shape. PokeBeach reports that MEGA x MEGA Parade will launch in Japan on Friday, 19 February 2027 as a High Class Pack set, with 550-yen booster packs containing 10 cards and a guaranteed hit.
For Australian collectors, the important part is not just the date. High Class Packs are usually among the most closely watched Japanese releases of the year, and early placeholder listings can appear well before genuine allocations and landed pricing are known.
Update: Four new Mega Attack Rares officially revealed
At the 2026 Pokémon World Championships, The Pokémon Company officially previewed four new Mega attack rare cards: Mega Rayquaza ex, Mega Darkrai ex, Mega Greninja ex and Mega Zygarde ex. Pokémon’s official Asia press release confirms that all four are “coming soon.”
PokeBeach reports these Mega Attack Rares are presumably tied to February’s MEGA x MEGA Parade. That connection makes sense for a premium High Class Pack, but Pokémon has not formally confirmed the set assignment. The cards themselves are confirmed; their placement in MEGA x MEGA Parade should still be treated as reported rather than final.
What this changes for Australian collectors
If the four cards do land in MEGA x MEGA Parade, the February High Class Pack suddenly has a much clearer premium chase identity. Mega Attack Rares use the comic-book-style treatment introduced in Ascended Heroes and Japan’s MEGA Dream ex, and names such as Rayquaza, Darkrai, Greninja and Zygarde are likely to draw significant collector attention.
That is enough to justify watching sealed demand, but not enough to justify paying an aggressive preorder premium. The complete secret-rare lineup, booster-box configuration, pull rates, allocations and Australian landed pricing remain unconfirmed. What is confirmed so far?
PokeBeach’s 25 August report gives the first concrete release details for MEGA x MEGA Parade:
- Japanese release date: 19 February 2027
- Pack price: 550 yen in Japan
- Cards per pack: 10
- Pack structure: a guaranteed hit is included
- Format: Japan’s premium High Class Pack line
The MEGA x MEGA Parade name itself was first uncovered through a Pokémon trademark filing in July. That filing was registered in the same category previously used for Pokémon TCG products, but at the time it did not confirm a release date or product format.
What cards are expected?
PokeBeach reports that Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y will feature in the set. Beyond that, the complete card list, secret rares and final product configuration have not yet been officially published by Pokémon.
Historically, Japanese High Class Packs combine important reprints from the current block with new premium artwork and secret rares. That history makes MEGA x MEGA Parade especially interesting, but collectors should treat any specific reprint list or chase-card prediction as unconfirmed until Pokémon publishes the set details.
Why the February release matters
High Class Packs have traditionally appeared near the end of the calendar year. A February release is therefore unusual and gives Japanese collectors a different buying window after 30th Celebration in September and Aura Seeker in November.
PokeBeach has suggested the 30th Anniversary schedule may have contributed to the shift, but Pokémon has not publicly confirmed the reason. The safest conclusion is simply that the premium-set calendar has moved for this release.
What should Australian collectors do?
Australian pricing and allocations are not confirmed yet. That matters because a Japanese 550-yen pack price does not translate directly into a sensible Australian booster-box price once wholesale supply, freight, exchange rates and retailer allocation are factored in.
If you see very early Australian preorder placeholders, treat them as an indication of interest rather than proof of final market pricing. Our Pokémon TCG preorder guide explains what to check before locking money into an early listing.
Collectors who mainly buy Japanese sealed product may also want to compare MEGA x MEGA Parade with recent sets such as Storm Emeralda and use our Japanese booster box guide when deciding whether to preorder, open or hold sealed.
What is still unknown?
Pokémon has not yet published the complete set list, secret rare lineup, booster-box configuration, Australian availability or an English equivalent. Those details will be more important than early hype when deciding whether the set is worth buying at launch.
HazzCardShop will update this article when official card lists, product imagery, allocation information or reliable Australian pricing becomes available.

Release-format and pack details are attributed to PokeBeach’s 25 August 2026 report. The Mega Attack Rare update is based on PokeBeach’s 30 August follow-up and cross-checked against The Pokémon Company’s official Asia press release confirming Mega Rayquaza ex, Mega Darkrai ex, Mega Greninja ex and Mega Zygarde ex are coming soon. Pokémon has not officially named MEGA x MEGA Parade in that Mega Attack Rare announcement, so this article labels the set placement as reported rather than confirmed.
